About

Malabar Coal announced the acquisition of various Drayton assets in the Upper Hunter of New South Wales in May 2017. The purchase included the infrastructure (“Maxwell Infrastructure” a coal preparation plant, train load-out facility, and administrative buildings) previously used to service the Drayton Open Cut Mine. For more information about the Maxwell Infrastructure Project click here. Malabar is rehabilitating the closed Drayton Open Cut Mine. The Maxwell Infrastructure will be used to service the future underground mines at the Maxwell and Spur Hill Projects. By using the existing infrastructure, Malabar will reduce the impact of its operations on the local community, neighbours and the environment.
