NSW GOVERNMENT Hunter-Paterson Environmental Water Advisory Group - Seeking Applications for Membership The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) - Biodiversity, Conservation & Science Group, is seeking applications from the community for membership of the Hunter-Paterson Environmental Water Advisory Group (EWAG). The Hunter-Paterson EWAG provides advice to DCCEEW on the use of water for the environment in the Hunter and Paterson regulated rivers for its water-dependent ecosystems, environment and cultural assets. A variety of backgrounds and perspectives from EWAG members is important and we rely on people from local community and stakeholder groups collaborating and contributing information, experience, analysis and recommendations. This is to inform culturally, environmentally and socially sensitive decisions for the beneficial use of water for the environment. We are seeking the knowledge and experience of First Nations peoples, recreational fishers, river/catchment managers, environmental scientists/ecologists, water users, fish experts, land managers, and Hunter specific riverine community members. Hunter-Paterson EWAG membership appointments are for up to five years. The EWAG meets 2-4 times per year and may also undertake occasional field trips. EWAG memberships are paid appointments. In line with the EWAG Terms of Reference, members are compensated for their time and all EWAG-related expenses including travel, accommodation and meals. The daily sitting fee is $220.
