Singleton Continuing in the spirit of Encounter, the theme for the 2024 Liturgical Year in Maitland-Newcastle Catholic Diocese is Follow Me. Within our Catholic Faith this could mean many things, but fundamentally refers to us following Jesus through orienting our lives around His teachings and example, as we seek to grow in faith, love, and service to others. To follow Jesus is a life-long journey of spiritual growth and transformation. Follow Me aligns with our St Catherine's values of Faith Harmony and Integrity very closely. For our students, following Jesus through faith, harmony, and integrity as learners involves integrating Christian values into every aspect of school life. In Faith, we should remember how to ensure the principles of honesty and compassion can be applied to our academic efforts, and our interactions with all people we encounter at school. To promote Harmony, we must treat our classmates, teachers and school staff with kindness and respect. practise forgiveness and reconciliation in conflicts, seek to resolve difference peacefully, and participate in all school activities to Promote unity and cooperation. In showing Integrity whilst at school, we should be honest and truthful in all our endeavours, through taking responsibility for our actions and choices, acknowledging if we make mistakes, and seeking to make things right In living through Jesus' teachings, and with support of our families at home, we can all work together to support our students to reach their full potential academically, socially, in co-curricular and extracurricular activities and sports, and spiritually; thus, holistically nurturing well-rounded individual who can overcome challenges and thrive in their future pathways. At St Catherine's, we are very proud of the growth and achievements of all our students especially those who embrace and tackle any challenge, which can be difficult at times, but the great feeling of accomplishment is one you cannot beat. We look forward to the leadership of our 2024 student leadership cohort across the College and in the wider community.
